Hello my name is Jesse L. Livermore the Third.

My grandfather, Jessie Livermore was the world's greatest stock trader. He is a timeless legend. I was born secretly well over half a century ago. I was born into a million dollar trust fund when a million dollars was a million dollars. However today, almost sixty years later my cash stash is running low and soon you will see me talking about trading in the markets.

I, Jesse Lauriston Livermore the 3rd, have the killer instinct for trading and speculating just like my grandfather Jesse Livermore had. I was handicapped a little with the money that Grandpa Jesse Livermore left me with, but you will be seeing and hearing more about my trades soon.

Jesse

Should I leave this message short and sweet as it is written above or am I not being fair to the admirers and fans of my grandfather Jesse Lauriston Livermore in sharing more information about his grandson, Jesse L. Livermore the Third?

My grandfather, Jesse Lauriston Livermore (Laurie to the ladies and J.L. to the big bankers) was with out a doubt the world's greatest stock speculator to have ever lived on the face of the earth. While he had the habit of making and losing millions he was a very good provider for his family and looked out for their future but he did not necessarily look out for his own future. He was equally great in either trading the long side or short side - and he was also able to sit out in a market that was not moving. I am on the back side of my fifties and I have never had to work a day in my life. However my Rolls Royce limo is in storage because I can no longer justify the high price of gasoline. Up to now I have never played the markets because in the past I had a fear of ending up like my grandpa, Jesse Livermore. I must admit that I have to fight feelings of depression, as Grandpa Jesse Livermore did but I am aware of their dangers and I read and study positive thinking books and I read and study positive affirmations to stay positive and happy. I do NOT drink, except socially, heavy, continual, drinking is a disease that can have grave consequences. I clearly see what happens to a man when he becomes an alcoholic. (Look what happened to my father, Jesse Livermore Jr.).

I am scared to death of alcohol, marriage, and guns and pistols. A good cigar on rare occasions is good for ones nerves. But forget Guns and Roses. Again if you know the Jesse Livermore story you know why I mention all of these things.

I am a loner, up until now no one has ever known that I am the son of Jesse Livermore Jr. but do you think that Dad could have lived the way he did and not have at least something good to come out of it. I hope that I can become that something good. I hope that I can add something good to the speculator, investment and trading world.

Luckily, I have taken after grandpa. I have his nose, big ears and blond hair and I like to think, his good looks. It is August 20, 2008 and I am finally coming forward to the world and announcing my existence. I am the only living blood of Jesse Lauriston Livermore. I live six months in the Caribbean and six months in Europe. I, Jesse Lauriston Livermore the 3rd am a baby boomer. I like the music of our day and I loved the era of free love. My mother's family was into farming. I hate the farm and farming. Grandpa Jesse Livermore's parents were farmers. He hated farming also. GrandPa Jesse Livermore ran away from home to escape life on the farm. I do NOT have a son or any heir of which I deeply regret. I had a vasectomy early in my life because of my lifestyle. Recently I had it reversed with no luck in producing Jesse L. Livermore the 4th. Any ideas from great men of medicine regarding reproduction in this situation would be greatly appreciated. I know that it is pretty late and I am old enough to be a grandfather myself but I think that this is the right thing to do. It will give cause to my being a great stock speculator and filling the shoes of Grandfather Jesse Livermore. I have quietly adopted a couple children at least in terms of having someone to pass my millions on to.

I have never had a stock broker account in my life but that is all about to change. I asked a friend to make a couple trades last month in real money to test my ideas. We decided to invest 0,000 together. (,000 a piece). In less than one month's time, my three stock picks came in with 40%, 52%, and 164% gains. Not bad for my first picks, no leverage or margins either. I sold out just as the stocks went lame. They will be in a holding pattern for a while then they will go back down again. The tape proved that I was right. This small successful step marks just the beginning.

I will come out with a blog, social network, forum, msn group, website or something on the internet so that I can meet and talk with other speculators, traders, investors and trader fans. I will post my picture and even do a TV and or a radio show if there is a need. I am on the shy and introverted side but I am not afraid of cameras, microphones, important people or our public. I have met many stars and presidents in my life. I have pictures with many of these celebrities and presidents. I am not internet savvy and will be looking for help to set this up. I know that grandpa Jesse didn't like to give tips but I will give tips under certain circumstances and conditions. Most people don't really appreciate something for nothing. I was very excited to be able to pick these stock winners amidst tons of listless drifters and roller coaster stocks. Not to mention that I am on a cruise right now with my gains with a woman so young, blond and beautiful that Grandpa Jesse Livermore would do a triple take! Like Grandpa Jesse Livermore I am drawn to the water and beautiful women. Hello Donald Trump! Some people confuse me for Donald Trump, also with an obvious eye for the ladies. Folks also sometimes confuse me for the great golfer Jack Nicklaus to give you an idea of how I look.

There is one thing that I really want to do considering that it looks like the bear is on the prowl. I have to learn how to better trade bear markets or just stay clear of today's minefields. Grandpa Jesse Livermore was famed for making multi-million dollar fortunes and short selling during the stock market crashes of 1907 and 1929. Those times may be upon us again.

I am studying grandpa's methods. My favorite book is written in Grandpa Jesse Livermore's own words and the additions of Richard Smitten are helpful. The title is "How to Trade in stocks" by Jesse Livermore. I am glad that Patricia Livermore sold the Rights of the book and Jesse's personal notes to Richard Smitten. It is easier to read in this new book form than trying to sift through Grandpa Jesse Livermore's hand written notes.

I see that there are a lot of people selling various programs using my grandfather's name. I do not object as long as their systems are true to the original and more important that they are making truck loads of money. Other wise I will have to speak up against such actions if they are not really successful trading systems. Not to mention that I could take legal action if I believe that a system is a blatant fraud. Let's hope we don't run into this kind of problem.

I am down to my last cash reserves (but I have enough to prime my speculator pump) and let me tell you as they use to say in my day, "poverty sucks" I am glad to see that the dollar is having a little rally but let's face it the dollar is worth about 5 cents compared to the times when Grandfather Jesse Livermore made his millions which by the way in today's dollars would have been worth well over a billion dollars!

Doing Google searches I have not been able to find any "Big Bear Traders", do I need a new search engine or does this modern day Big Bear Trader not exist? Big Bear Shoes that I just may have to fill. Think about it for a minute, what if this bear market is to last for ten or twenty years. (I am not suggesting this is the case, but I see a lot of danger in the world economies. There are much deeper problems now than there were for example in the crash of 1929.

Apparently most of the new star stock market speculators of today have made their fortunes in the huge bull markets a few years ago, men like Dan Zanger with his Chart Patterns. I believe that a man can learn from other greats as many have adapted successful stock trading styles based on the Jesse Livermore Method. Even today, many stock and commodity traders owe Jesse Livermore a deep debt of gratitude for sharing his trading experiences in Reminiscences of a Stock Operator. I am hoping that some of these stock market greats will return the favor in memory of the great Jesse Livermore. However, if I am snubbed by the investment, speculator and trader community I can conquer the market on my own if I have to as grandfather Jesse Livermore did. He liked to and preferred to work alone anyway but he did pay attention to his senior traders. I would like to have a few living mentors who know how to trade and invest. I respect the achievements of Warren Buffet. If Grandpa Jesse Livermore would have combined the two styles (the Jesse Livermore/Warren Buffet styles he would have owned the world. I lean towards being a speculator like Grandpa Jesse Livermore mainly because at my age and considering market conditions I do NOT have enough time to wait for my investments to mature as in the Buffet investment long term buy and hold style. Even Warren Buffet is mostly on the sidelines right now with considerable cash reserves. I do plan on a certain amount of very carefully selected buy and hold as well as my own Jesse Livermore style of momentum trading or swing trading. A buy and hold strategy if and when we have a bull market and only sell when the bull market is on its last legs. The stock choices of our fathers may well find themselves worthless and in the shredder in our futures. To survive in future markets one will have to adapt to a new world order. I will be careful and hand pick just a few rocket stocks whether they be headed up or down> I will have my finger on the trigger at precisely the right time and at precisely the right price. Not too high of a price or not too low of a price either, but just the right price and in the right group with just the right amount of volume moving. I have unbelievable patience and my brain is wired exactly like grandpa Jesse Livermore's, except that I take a little after my mother who was more like Warren Buffet in her money management skills, she squeezed a nickel until the old buffalo almost shit as does Warren Buffet. I do not agree with Warren Buffet on one hand about not leaving a fortune to his children, on the other hand look at what easy money did to my father, Jesse Livermore Jr. With the Livermore/Buffet mind-set I can finish what grandpa Jesse Livermore started. Believe me I will save half of every winning pot, as Jesse Livermore always said one should.

I hope to be your shining light and your new stock trader and speculator guru to show you how to get rich. In the mean time I am trying to search through successful traders of today to see if we can find a guru to follow together until I carry the torch personally and fully fill the shoes of Grandfather Jesse Livermore. I was taught since I was little that I should learn from wise old men who have experience in the markets. In Reminiscences of a Stock Operator, we read about "the Old Turkey," a "very wise old codger" who counseled Jesse Livermore on making good investment decisions and avoiding mistakes. Learn your strengths and weaknesses. "We've all got a weak spot. What's yours?" asks the Old Turkey. A good question that we must all answer. "Study mistakes," he counsels. You don't learn from your successes, only from your mistakes!

Jesse Livermore Advice:

"The game of speculation is the most uniformly fascinating game in the world. But it is not a game for the stupid, the mentally lazy, the man of inferior emotional balance, or for the get-rich-quick adventurer. They will die poor." "Speculation is far too exciting. Most people who speculate hound the brokerage offices... the ticker is always on their minds. They are so engrossed with the minor ups and downs, they miss the big movements." "...the fruits of your success will be in direct ratio to the honesty and sincerity of your own effort in keeping your own records, doing your own thinking, and reaching your own conclusions." "There are times when money can be made investing and speculating in stocks, but money cannot consistently be made trading every day or every week during the year. Only the foolhardy will try it. It just is not in the cards and cannot be done." "The point is not so much to buy as cheap as possible or go short at top price, but to buy or sell at the right time." "It took me five years to learn to play the game intelligently enough to make big money when I was right." "There is nothing new in Wall Street. There can't be because speculation is as old as the hills. Whatever happens in the stock market today has happened before and will happen again."

I would like to thank Edwin Lefevre for The book "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" on behalf of my grandfather Jesse Livermore, unfortunately, as with Jimi Hendrix and Elvis Presley this will not be possible.

What I really want to know is: Is there a man or woman alive today who can really trade and in particular short sell like my late and great grandfather Jesse Livermore and can this unknown stock trading guru trade successfully in bear markets?

I would like to personally thank Richard Smitten for his work and interest in the late and great Jesse Livermore.

I would also like to challenge Paul Sarnoff right to his face and publicly over the false and misleading information written in his Speculator King about the late and great Jesse Livermore Sr.

And lastly I would like to talk to Jim Cramer's producer about my taking his job! Ha Ha, Jim!

Together when the time is right, let's increase the size of our position as it goes in the right direction and cut or losses quickly when we are wrong.

Watch out for the Bear because he is out to eat you alive!

Thank you very much,

Jesse Lauriston Livermore the 3rd

Gold – A Niche Investment

Gold is a scarce natural resource and its scarcity helps keep it valuable. Unlike paper money gold cannot be printed to order. In the turmoil of today's financial markets currency is being generated from nothing in the trillions but historically currencies which are not backed by precious metals have a tendency of being worth less over the years. Typically these currencies end up being worth nothing. For example the US dollar lost 98% of its purchasing power in the twentieth century.

Coin collecting is great fun for hobbyists and investors alike. Indeed auction sites attract an increasing number of coin collectors due to the rarity of some of the coins on offer and in some cases fantastic value too.
